Housing in Milas

Milas - Muğla

The housing block in the town of Milas is located at the cross section of the historic town and the modern center. The aim of the project is to develop a modern building showing respect to the vernacular architecture of the town of Milas. For this purpose an urban design project was developed and the building blocks were shaped thereafter. The project is approved by the local board of monuments.

The housing block is developed along the pedestrian way leading to Barış Avenue. Shops are located on the ground floor and continuity is maintained by a collonaded passage. On the upper floors housing units are located and the facade is made more dynamic and the scale adjusted with solid and void configuration. This way the units plans are also varied. The entrance to housing block is on the backside from a landscaped courtyard.
