Diplomats’ Club and Recreation Center

Oran City - Ankara

The Diplomats’ Club, situated on a plateau, welcome the boulevard axis as well as the dominant panoramic view. The brief calls for the design of a social club building with indoors and outdoors sports fields, a recreation center as well as surrounding gardens. Entrance to the social club is located on the east side, and is designed so as to provide an entry promenade upon arrival. A patio with a reflecting pool is the main feature. The entrance to the sports and recreation center is located at the north side, at one level below. Located at the west side is the service court. The sports fields are in located in spacious green, enabling the perception of the building from a distance.

The club building is to be finished with travertine cladding, modular metal panelling and large glass surfaces. Solar control is maintained by the aluminum brise-soleils. The building structure will be a composite of reinforced concrete under structure and a steel roof supporting system.
