D100 Highway Facade Rehabilitation

D100 highway is the major access route leading from Atatürk Airport to the City Center. The facade rehabilitation project is divided into 4 consecutive zones. UrbAr is responsible with the 4th Region, covering approximately 5km'lik route between Hospital and Airport Junction Service. D100 4th District Bahçelievler District in the northern part of the study area is located in the Bakirkoy district on the southern side.

Major design decisions include: Ensuring the integrity of the basis of design, differences of perception of the pedestrian and vehicles to be reflected in the design, character of the buildings due to their period of construction to be preserved during rehabilitation, billboards and advertisements to conform to the Advertisement Regulations of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Reestablishing integrity of building elements such as window casements, roof treatments, etc., application of color palette.
