Beyazıt Square Urban Design Project

Beyazıt Square the most prominent public space of the historic center of İstanbul - over the course of the last century - has lost its spatial relationship with its environs, has become functionally obscure, causing the square to be isolated and dilapidated; a mere neglected space far from reflecting the importance of the historical monuments of the Betyazıt Complex, and far from functioning as a vibrant public space.

The project aims at resolving the spatial and functional problems of the square, by a wholistic approach, and a design  project that aims at a modern and accessible public space that highlights the historic significance of the Beyazıt Complex and Beyazıt Square.
