Ali Kural, MAUD
Ali Kural was born in Ankara in 1974. In 1995, he completed his Bachelors Degree in Architecture at the Middle East Technical University, ranking first. Upon receiving Fulbright Scholarship for graduate studies in the U.S., he studied at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and in 1999 completed the Master of Architecture in Urban Design Degree program with the thesis project titled: “Green and Adapting Formless City - Formulating a Growth Strategy for the İstanbul Region in Beykoz - Ümraniye Area”. From 1999 to 2004 he lived and worked in Boston, New York, Washington DC, İstanbul and Ankara. Since 2004 Ali Kural has been practicing architecture and urban design in Istanbul with Kural Architects and Planners and with UrbAr, the recently founded Office for Urbanization and Architecture. His recent projects include Alaçatı Windmills Square Urban Design in Alaçatı İzmir, Historic Beyazıt Square Urban Renewal in İstanbul and an Undergraduate Dormitory building with 700 student capacity for Middle East Technical University in Ankara.
